Real Dating

I miss dating. Real dating after you meet someone serendipitously and not through a suspicious online algorithm of love. Glossing over profiles of random but “scientifically chosen” men and deleting them at will makes it feel like like you have a tiny bit of control over the whole mess but it’s no substitute for the real deal. I’ve found that when it comes to dating, spontaneity and authenticity are what really matter. Does anyone else long for the days before digital dating?

Digital Dating

We are creatures (or victims) of our time. Pop culture makes it seem like everyone finds love in a meet-cute way: instead of trolling your way through profiles and 21+ bars and recreational sports leagues that you hate, you should just sit in a café reading Kurt Vonnegut and your date will magically appear in front of you. Charmed, I’m sure, by the depth of your reading material and not at all worried about your affinity for One Direction. I miss dating. Real dating.

Finding Connection

Does anyone else long for the days before digital dating? I believe there could be a renaissance on the horizon if we just take a step back and actually talk to another another. There is a middle ground between Nicholas Sparks and Ok Cupid. Be brave – put yourself out there and engage with people. Bring the authenticity back to your love life. You’ll be surprised by what you find. We are creatures (or victims) of our time. I miss dating. Real dating. I miss dating. Real dating.
